No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and a continuing passion for the game of poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his success. He admits to making errors every single session of poker and always strives to get better.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
