Caribbean Poker Protocols and Tricks

Poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the dealer declares "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the different gamblers receive 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s first card, you must in turn make a call bet or bow out. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original wager, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your bet goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the bet is the conclusion. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including an amount in accordance with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The casino pays money equal to your ante and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
