No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker contender on the globe by many of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative feedback from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is incredibly humble about his success. He knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
